Adult Program Overview

Leadership Oklahoma (LOK) is a statewide organization encompassing citizens from every region of the state ensuring a diverse group of leaders. It has a membership of approximately 1,528 adult leaders from 170 communities bringing expertise in business, education, health, government, non-profit, finance, law, and utility sectors from across the state.LOK is unique in its ability to foster cohesiveness among a group of citizens coming from different backgrounds. The countless hours spent together creates a bond like no other organization across the state. Based on respect and interaction, a living network shares an ability to identify, evaluate, and implement projects of value to Oklahoma. This statewide network has a shared experience and understanding of Oklahoma’s issues and respects the differences among us we must overcome to achieve success.
The primary program of Leadership Oklahoma is its annual educational, issues-oriented ten-month class program. Monthly two-day sessions are held in various communities throughout the state. Each year Oklahoma leaders who represent a wide geographic base and who have diverse backgrounds and vocations are selected to participate. Each class is exposed to the many social and environmental complexities of the state in order to stimulate inquiry, analysis and independent development of solutions for the public good. Class members meet and talk with Oklahoma’s current leaders and explore the state’s opportunities, needs, issues and resources. Based on the interaction and respect developed during the class year, a living network is formed – a network capable of identifying, evaluating and implementing projects of value to the people of Oklahoma.

Adult Application

Each year Leadership Oklahoma brings together 50 of the state’s most outstanding leaders for an issues-oriented class program.  Monthly sessions, held in various communities, address critical challenges facing our state. Participants are chosen through a rigorous application process and selected from across the state to represent Oklahoma’s professional, geographical and cultural diversity.
